MATERIALS: Fused glass, cord

This fused glass art pendant is made of 9 individual pieces of Spectrum 96 Art Glass.

The pieces of the pattern are each cut by hand from larger sheets of art glass.

Each piece is individually ground until they all fit together perfectly.

The pieces are then placed onto a base piece of black glass, in a specialised glass kiln. They are fused at 800ºC to create a single 6mm thick piece of flat glass. This takes around 16 hours.

Once cooled, this flat piece is then ground to perfect the shape, burnished with polishing pads, drilled, and again kiln-fused overnight for a fire polish.

At each firing stage, the glass is annealed and cooled overnight for maximum strength and durability.

While the production process is painstaking and lengthy, it's the only way to get the wonderful finished look of an original glass art pendant.

The pendant is strung on an adjustable black cord, with a moveable white bead, and two small black glass beads securing the ends.

These moveable beads are individually hand-made and drilled, with each cut from the same glass sheet as the original.

I designed the unique pattern and colour combination of this pendant collection.

Each of my glass pendants are one of a kind. I never do identical objects.

Even where the design is similar they all have a unique colour combination, and a Certificate of Authenticity

Even the strongest glass can break, so please handle your pendant with care, and don't let it bang against metal or very hard objects.

When needed, dust it with a lint-free cloth, or wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Don't use an abrasive cleaner as this could scratch it.
